Euro-confusion

Forrester produced a new chart today which shows that online consumers in France are much LESS likely to visit social networking sites than UK, US, Korea Japan and even Germany.

This is a bit of a surprise to me as I had assumed from previous studies that France was about the most social media savvy market in Europe. The chart below is also from Forrester (and it looks as if it even comes from the same study). To be fair, it does ask a different question about “using” (rather than visiting) “blogs” (rather than social media). Anyone else have any views or other data on this? Is France in fact behind in use of ‘social media’ but ahead in ‘blogging’ or do the two pieces of data conflict?
