PRESS RELEASE

Edelman Hires Jane Fields as General Manager of the United Arab Emirates

Fields Brings Over 18 Years of Corporate Communications Experience to Clients in the Middle East

Edelman today announced that it has hired Jane Fields as general manager of the firm’s United Arab Emirates operations, effective immediately. Fields reports to Robert Holdheim, CEO of South Asia, Middle East and Africa and is based in Abu Dhabi.

Fields is a corporate communications professional with over 18 years of experience across multiple sectors including financial services, B2B media, new media and technology. Prior to joining Edelman, Fields co-founded Oxbow Media, which specialises in delivering multimedia communications strategies including digital, online media, and large-scale events with clients such as Expedia, Skype, Facebook, Apple and BlackBerry.

“I am hugely excited about joining Edelman,” said Fields. “Its extraordinary leadership, infectious culture and history in the UAE thus far have all fuelled my passion and drive to continue to provide award-winning service to the firm’s clients in the region. As a lover of multimedia communication, technophile and someone with a passion for people, I believe there are endless possibilities for growth and I look forward to this new chapter with Edelman and our clients in the Middle East.”

Prior to Oxbow Media, Fields served at Ernst & Young Management Consultancy in their global Financial Services practice; founded her first start-up specialising in corporate communications, PR and marketing; joined the board at United Business Media (CMPi) leading the people agenda and played a key role in leading Skype’s talent management strategy and corporate communications through a period of rapid growth, when it was the fastest growing dotcom of its time.

“Jane’s combination of corporate and entrepreneurial experience makes her ideally suited to bring our award-winning UAE operation to the next level,” said Holdheim. “This is our second-fastest growing operation globally, having gone from zero to seventy-five people in just five short years. Under Jane’s able leadership, Abu Dhabi will continue to thrive as our engine for growth across the Middle East.”

David Brain, president and CEO, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, said, “From the day we set the office up five years ago, Abu Dhabi has been a hugely important center for Edelman, and as we have grown into Dubai it will become even more important as the fulcrum of our Middle East businesses in the future. Jane’s appointment to run the UAE means we now have a seasoned and experienced operator who can bring huge technology and in-house experience to bear for our clients, and we welcome her to the team.”

Fields has studied and is a master practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and has gone on to study emotional intelligence and leadership development, coaching top executives and building top-tier leadership programmes throughout her career. She has experience living and working in the U.S., Australia and the UK, and has a degree in Business and Tourism from the University of Ulster. Fields has lived in Abu Dhabi since August 2012, where she lives with her husband.
