The FT reported this morning that the BBC’s worldwide viewing figures are up with 233 million people tuning in on TV, radio or the web. According to the man behind it, Richard Sambrook, more people now get their news from the BBC than from any other single source. This is the part of the BBC that has to make its way commercially (though as an operating division of an organsiation that is publicly funded) so it’s difficult to tell if there are lessons here for other media companies.
