Just presented the Edelman Trust Barometer in our new Madrid office (we moved a couple of weeks ago) which is thrillingly close to the Bernabeu, so I imagine future trips here will be planned with home fixtures in mind.
Here are some of the key points from the Spanish version of the study.
Among Informed Publics ages 35-64:
Spain has low trust in government (34%)
Trust in business “to do the right thing” declined by 9 points to 40%, the second biggest fall in Europe
67% of Spanish opinion formers trust business less than last year
All traditional and corporate information sources declined in credibility
CEO credibility declined 26 points to record low of 20% over the past year
Among Informed Publics ages 25-64:
67% trust companies less now than they did a year ago.
72% agree that government should impose stricter regulations and greater control over business across all industries.
